All screenings will take place at Val’s Lesbian Bar, a 21+ venue located at 605 S. 3rd Street; the screening space is up a flight of stairs without wheelchair access. Tickets are $10 presale and at the door — or save a little and bundle all three films for $24.
It’s difficult to imagine anyone but Tilda as the time-traveling, shapeshifting, binary-defying Orlando in Sally Potter’s adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel. Tilda has called the film “a very practical legend of a spirit in motion, growing up before our eyes and becoming real.” She brings her trademark androgyny and restraint to Woolf’s tale of longing—for love, for creative fulfillment, for meaning and knowledge of self—across the centuries.
